Disabling the Default Shares
Windows 2000
To disable the default shares running in Windows 2000:
- Click the Start button in the lower left corner of the desktop.
- Click Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Administrative Tools icon.
- Double-click the Services icon.
- Scroll down and double-click Server.
- In the Server Properties dialog, change the Startup Type
to Disabled.
- Click Apply, then click OK.
Windows NT
To disable the default shares running in Windows NT:
- Click the Start button in the lower left corner of the desktop.
- Click Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Services icon.
- Scroll down and double-click Server.
- Change the Startup Type to Disabled.
- Click Close, then restart your computer.
