Disable File Sharing

Macintosh OS 9.x:

To disable file sharing:

1. On the Apple menu, select Control Panels, then select Sharing Setup or File Sharing.


2. Uncheck the Enable File Sharing and Enable Program Linking checkboxes, then click OK.

Macintosh OS X

To disable file sharing:

1. On the Apple menu, select System Preferences.


2. On Internet and Network, click the Sharing icon.


3. On the Services tab, uncheck the Personal file sharing and Personal Web sharing checkboxes.


4. Uncheck the Remote Login and Remote Apple Events checkboxes, then close the window.
